Shawn Robert Ashmore\u00a0(born October 7, 1979) is a Canadian actor who is known for roles in film, television, and interactive media. He began acting in his youth, notably portraying Jake Berenson in Nickelodeon’s television series\u00a0Animorphs\u00a0(1998\u20131999), Tyler Connell in\u00a0Disney Channel’s television series\u00a0In a Heartbeat\u00a0(2000\u20132001), and Brad Rigby in the Disney Channel Original Movie\u00a0Cadet Kelly\u00a0(2002). At age 14, Ashmore received a\u00a0Gemini\u00a0nomination for Best Performance in a Children’s\/Youth Program for his starring role in the television film\u00a0Guitarman\u00a0(1994).<\/p>\n
Ashmore gained international recognition for his role as\u00a0Bobby Drake \/ Iceman\u00a0in the\u00a020th Century Fox’s\u00a0X-Men\u00a0films (2000\u20132014), winning the 2004\u00a0MTV Movie Award\u00a0for Breakthrough Male Performance for\u00a0X2.
