Marc Menchaca\u00a0(born October 10, 1975) is an American actor, writer, and director. He was co-director, co-writer, and lead actor of the 2013\u00a0Heartland Film Festival\u00a0movie\u00a0This Is Where We Live and was awarded best actor at the Breckenridge Film Festival in 2016 for his lead role in the film\u00a0Reparation and his lead role in\u00a0#LIKE, in 2021 at the Oxford Film Festival. He has appeared in several television shows, including\u00a0Ozark\u00a0in 2018 and\u00a0The Sinner,\u00a0Manifest,\u00a0and\u00a0The Outsider\u00a0in 2019.<\/p>\n
Menchaca first became interested in performing as a student at\u00a0Central High School.\u00a0After graduating, he attended\u00a0Texas A&M University, earning a bachelor’s degree in English; it was also where he acted in his first play. He participated in a summer acting program at the\u00a0Circle in the Square Theatre School\u00a0in\u00a0Manhattan\u00a0before pursuing an acting career in his twenties.\u00a0He is an alumnus of the\u00a0William Esper Studio.<\/p>\n

In 2015, he played a lead role as Bob Stevens, a veteran struggling with memory loss, in the Kyle Ham-directed film\u00a0Reparation.\u00a0It earned him the best actor award at the\u00a0BreckenridgeFilm Festival,\u00a0with the film receiving a further 10 festival awards, including the\u00a0Austin Film FesFestival’sdience Choice prize and Best Film at the\u00a0Santa Fe Film Festival.<\/p>\n
In the 2018\u00a0Netflix\u00a0television series\u00a0Ozark,\u00a0Menchaca had a recurring role as Russ Langmore, a man\u00a0struggling to suppress his homosexuality.\u00a0He has had regular roles on television in\u00a0The Sinner and\u00a0Manifest. He appeared again on TV with\u00a0Jason Bateman\u00a0in 2019 in the\u00a0Stephen King\u00a0horror miniseries\u00a0The Outsider, portraying Jack Hoskins for all 10 episodes.<\/p>\n
In 2020, Menchaca won Best Actor in a Feature at the\u00a0Mammoth Film Festival\u00a0Awards for his performance as Sam in the\u00a0John Hyams\u00a0thriller\u00a0Alone\u00a0alongside co-star\u00a0Jules Willcox.\u00a0He performed his stunts in the film, including a fight scene in the mud with Willcox. He received a further award for Best Actor in 2020 at the Oxford International Film Festival (OXIFF) in the UK for his portrayal of ‘Th’ Man’ i’\u00a0#Like,\u00a0directed by\u00a0Sarah Pirozek. In 2021, he starred in the Santiago Menghini-directed\u00a0Netflix\u00a0horror movie\u00a0No One Gets Out Alive\u00a0with co-star\u00a0Cristina Rodlo.<\/p>\n
On October 6, 2022, Menchaca married British actress\u00a0Lena Headey\u00a0in Apulia, Italy.\u00a0He is of Mexican descent on his paternal side.<\/p>\n
