Marni Banack made her television directing debut in the late 90\u2019s with episodes of Disney\u2019s SciFi ,\u201cSo Weird\u201d. While getting to re-live her teen years is a lot of fun (directing for Disney, Nickelodeon, Family Channel, Discovery Kids), Marni also swaps hats to helm dramatic projects including an adaptation of a Margaret Atwood short story \u201cBetty\u201d, CTV\u2019s \u201cBliss\u201d, the feature coming of age indie \u201cWinter Break\u201d and directed alongside Steve Guttenberg as he starred in “P.S. Your Cat is Dead\u201d.<\/p>\n
She recently completed several episodes of \u201cThe Next Step\u201d for CBC Gem.<\/p>\n
A graduate of both The American Film Institute and York University, Marni\u2019s work has garnered several awards and been recognized at festivals around the world including the DGC, DGA, AFI, and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Student Academy Award for her short film, \u201cJohn\u201d. In addition to her TV work, Marni is developing several original projects for both film and TV\u2026she is also actively praying that school stays \u2018in-person\u2019 so she doesn\u2019t have to go back to homeschooling\/refereeing her three young children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
