John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega\u00a0(born 17 March 1992), known professionally as\u00a0John Boyega, is a British actor and producer. He first gained recognition in Britain for his role as a teenage gang leader in the comedy horror film\u00a0Attack the Block\u00a0(2011) before he had his international breakthrough playing\u00a0Finn\u00a0in\u00a0Star Wars: The Force Awakens\u00a0(2015). As a cast member of the\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0sequel trilogy\u00a0(2017 and 2019), Boyega received the\u00a0BAFTA Rising Star Award\u00a0in 2016 and the\u00a0Troph\u00e9e Chopard\u00a0at the\u00a02016 Cannes Film Festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Boyega’s career continued to gain momentum in 2020 when he won a\u00a0Golden Globe Award\u00a0for his portrayal of\u00a0Leroy Logan\u00a0in\u00a0Red, White and Blue, a part of\u00a0Steve McQueen’s anthology series\u00a0Small Axe.\u00a0He then played King\u00a0Ghezo\u00a0in the historical action film\u00a0The Woman King\u00a0(2022) and a drug dealer in the mystery film\u00a0They Cloned Tyrone\u00a0(2023).<\/p>\n
